Why Praxiko exists

Live with a health professional, spend years around the medical field, and you notice the same thing from two directions. The appointment is an hour. The practice's software is busy for that hour and quiet for the rest of the month — the calendar, the note, the invoice, and then nothing until the next one.

Then I got sick. It took me over two years to recover, and for most of it I was the one on the other side of the desk. What I remember is not the appointments. It is the weeks between them, when the practice I was under had no way to reach me and I had no simple way to reach it. Not because the people treating me were not good at their jobs — because nothing they were using was built to be there when I wasn't in the room.

The rest of my career has been product development: building software for the people who have to use it every day, rather than for the people who sign for it. Praxiko is that, pointed at this. It runs the practice — booking, GST invoicing, one shared client record across practitioners and modalities — and it stays present in the weeks between appointments, under the practice's own name rather than ours.

It is one person's product, built for a particular kind of practice and deliberately narrow. What it does not do is written on this page as plainly as what it does.
